MCE Holdings (MCE), a Malaysian tier 1 automotive electronics and mechatronics supplier, has officially launched the MCE Auto Hub, a RM50 million automotive electronics and mechatronic components manufacturing facility.
The new plant marks the first phase of the Group’s RM200 million long-term investment plan, and is set to strengthen MCE’s design, engineering, manufacturing, and research and development (R&D) capabilities, while also increasing its production capacity in support of localisation efforts within the automotive industry.
The new facility spans eight acres and is located within the UMW High Value Manufacturing Park in Serendah. According to MCE, it will more than double the Group’s production capacity while strengthening its capabilities in automotive electronics and next-generation mobility solutions.
The MCE Auto Hub is designed as an Industry 4.0-ready manufacturing hub, featuring cleanroom production areas and tightly controlled environments required for advanced automotive electronics across both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles (EVs). The Group says it will create opportunities for Malaysian engineers, technology companies and suppliers to participate in the design, development and manufacture of advanced automotive technologies in Malaysia.
With the new MCE Auto Hub operational, the MCE says it now employs a workforce of 680 employees, including 90 engineers, across its operations in Johor Bahru, Port Klang and Serendah.

Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), YB Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, said, “This investment marks a significant step in the continued development of Malaysia’s automotive industry and is a reflection of the confidence in both MCE Holdings and Malaysia’s future. In a highly competitive industry, it is imperative that local suppliers continue to pursue manufacturing excellence by cultivating engineering expertise, innovation and technology.”
MCE Group Managing Director, Dr. Goh Kar Chun, said, “From our first contract supplying remote alarms and central locking systems for the domestic market in 1990, MCE has continuously invested in strengthening our capabilities. Over the years, we have expanded our portfolio from traditional automotive components into more advanced automotive electronics and mechatronic solutions.”
“Today, we serve customers across Malaysia, ASEAN and the United States, supplying increasingly sophisticated automotive electronics and mechatronic solutions. The MCE Auto Hub is the next step in that journey and reflects our confidence that Malaysian engineering, talent and manufacturing capabilities can compete on the world stage,” he added.
