Having been around since 2019, the current-generation W177 Mercedes-AMG A45 is getting a little long in the tooth. Seeing that the next-generation A-Class is slated for a 2028 debut, Stuttgart has decided to give the manic hot-hatch a fitting farewell in the form of the Mercedes-AMG A45S Final Edition, a 421 hp pocket rocket.
The most powerful inline-four engine in the world, the M139 2.0-litre turbo four, continues to accelerate the A45S Final Edition towards the horizon. Here, it makes 421 hp and 500 Nm of torque, with all that fed to the AMG Performance 4Matic+ drivetrain via an AMG Speedshift eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
However, there are no changes with its performance figures as it still dispatches the century sprint in 3.9 seconds and tops out at 270 km/h.

The Final Edition distinguishes itself from the regular A45S with a shade of Manufaktur Mountain Grey Magno and Jet Black, complemented by yellow accents and optional ‘A45S’ decals on the front doors.
Filling up the four corners are matte back 19-inch AMG forged alloy wheels that do their best to cover the discreet gloss black brake calipers with white AMG lettering.
Buyers can further option out their A45S Final Edition hatches with the AMG Aerodynamics Package. That will see the addition of a front apron with enlarged front splitter, a roof spoiler, lateral airflow elements around the rear apron, and a rear diffuser blade.

Keeping the cabin equally sporty are yellow accents along the Artico synthetic leather and Microcut microfibre upholstery. The front seat headrests get ‘A45S’ embroidery while the centre console also receives the same alphanumeric treatment in the form of an emblem.
The lucky driver will get to hold onto an AMG Performance steering wheel trimmed in Nappa leather and Microcut microfibre with matching yellow stitching. Completing the cabin are AMG door sills with yellow illumination and AMG floor mats.
Until the new A-Class successor debuts in 2028, the current W177 will continue to carry the torch for the badge. Will the A45S Final Edition make its way here? It is very likely given that the CLA45S 4Matic+ Final Edition arrived on our shores last year, priced at a cool RM538,888.
