Proton eMAS 7 PHEV spotted with new green colour, update soon?

It looks like the Proton eMAS 7 PHEV (stylised as e.MAS 7 PHEV) could receive an update soon. An anonymous AutoBuzz.my reader has shared photos of the SUV in what appears to be a warehouse sporting a new paint job. The images reveal a dark shade of green that is not currently available. It is unclear if this new paint job will be a permanent addition to the eMAS 7 PHEV line-up or a special limited-edition run.

When it was officially launched in February 2026, the eMAS 7 PHEV was available in five exterior colours. These were Obsidian Black, Lithium White, Mercury Silver, Galena Grey, and Aquamarine Blue. These paint jobs can be paired with Alabaster White or Onyx Black interior leatherette upholstery.

Three variants of the Proton eMAS 7 PHEV are available: Prime, Premium, and Premium Plus. Prices for the national brand’s first plug-in-hybrid model start at RM109,800, RM123,800, and RM129,800, respectively.

The Proton eMAS 7 PHEV powertrain consists of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder dedicated hybrid engine producing 99 hp/125 Nm. This is paired with an 11-in-1 integrated dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), enabling series-parallel hybrid capabilities. The DHT houses a traction motor that produces 218 hp/262 Nm. Combined, this setup produces 262 hp and 262 Nm.

Depending on the variant, the eMAS 7 PHEV is available with two battery packs. The Prime and Premium variants are equipped with a CATL-sourced 18.4 kWh LFP battery, offering a claimed EV range of 83 km (WLTP, 105 km NEDC) and a total combined driving range of up to 943 km (WLTP, 1,000 km NEDC). Fuel efficiency for these two variants is rated at 4.3L/100 km.

On the other hand, the range-topping Premium Plus variant is equipped with a larger 29.8 kWh Aegis Short Blade LFP battery. This extends the EV range to 146 km (WLTP, 170 km NEDC) and increases the total combined range to 996 km (WLTP, 1,065 km NEDC). However, due to the additional weight of the larger battery, the fuel consumption for the eMAS 7 PHEV Premium Plus variant is marginally lower at 4.4L/100 km.
