Porsche Cayenne S electric unveiled – more ‘Style’ or ‘Sport’?

Porsche has pulled the covers off the new Porsche Cayenne S Electric — slotting neatly between the base Cayenne Electric and the range-topping Cayenne Electric Turbo. Although the ‘S’ badge traditionally stands for “Sport,” Porsche has also introduced several new ‘Style’ optional extras alongside the Cayenne S.

But before we get into the style upgrades, let’s talk about perhaps the most important upgrade on Porsche “S” models: power. The new Porsche Cayenne S Electric sports a dual-motor setup producing 544 hp (400 kW), with Launch Control boosting output to 666 hp (490 kW). That’s 244 hp (165 kW) more than the base model, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

While sharing the same 113 kWh battery pack with the rest of the lineup, the Cayenne S is quoted with the longest range at 653 km under the WLTP test cycle. For reference, the base Cayenne Electric boasted 642 km of range while the Turbo variant was quoted at 623 km under the same test cycle.

Charging, on the other hand, remains pretty much the same with the rest of the lineup. Expect the new Cayenne S to feature the same 400 kW DC fast charging capabilities, juicing the car from 10-80% in under 16 minutes.

One notable piece of hardware in the Cayenne S is its direct oil cooling for the rear electric motor, carried over from the Turbo model. This helps maintain consistent performance under sustained high loads — particularly useful when pushing the car harder on track or during spirited driving.

More interestingly, Porsche is now allowing Cayenne S buyers to tick a few option boxes previously reserved only for the Turbo model. These include Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, which improves cornering precision by distributing torque between the rear wheels, and the Porsche Active Ride suspension system that actively counteracts body movements for better ride comfort and handling.

Other optional features include the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake setup with its signature yellow brake callipers, along with the Sport Chrono Package. There’s also a dedicated Track mode, which optimises battery temperature and power delivery for sustained high-performance driving.

Visually, the new Porsche Cayenne S Electric gets a few subtle touches to distinguish it from the standard model. Model-specific front and rear aprons finished in Volcano Grey Metallic give the SUV a slightly sportier appearance, while the inserts and rear diffuser are painted in body colour. Completing the look are 20-inch Cayenne S Aero wheels.

Buyers can choose from 13 exterior colours, along with a range of interior trims and accent packages. Spearheading the options list is a newly introduced Interior Style Package developed by Style Porsche together with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.

Designed to complement the Mystic Green Metallic exterior finish, the package introduces a Black and Delgada Green two-tone leather interior that extends across the seats and door panels. The seats feature matching green seat belts and contrast stitching, while the Porsche crest outline is embroidered into the headrests for an added touch.

Additional design details continue the green theme throughout the cabin. Aluminium trim pieces finished in Izabal Green contrast against the leather surfaces, while the GT sports steering wheel features a 12-o’clock marker and cross-stitching in Delgada Green.

The colour accents stretch all the wya to the drive mode selector wheel as well as the airbag module ring. Even the instrumentation carries subtle styling cues, with green accents applied to the compass dial, Sport Chrono stopwatch, and power meter in the digital cluster.

Completing the package are Silvershade accent trims, a centre armrest embossed with “Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur”, and illuminated aluminium door sill guards finished in black with the model name glowing in green. Porsche even extends the styling to the vehicle key, which is painted in Izabal Green and presented in a matching case with decorative stitching.

With the Cayenne S Electric, Porsche appears to be striking a balance between performance and personalisation — offering buyers a more powerful variant than the base model, while also unlocking a broader selection of luxury and design options previously reserved for the range-topping Turbo.
