The Kia Sportage is offered in three different powertrain variants here in Malaysia. A 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine option is designed for those who appreciate smooth power, with 154 hp and 192 Nm offered to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox.
But if you appreciate more grunt, the Gamma II 1.6-litre turbocharged mill with 177 hp and 265 Nm provides a more eager driving experience, and can be had in both front- or all-wheel drive configurations, both coupled with a smooth seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The Kia Sportage has recently received a pricing revision in Malaysia, bringing its sticker prices down to now RM128,800 for the 2.0G 2WD, RM138,800 for the 2.0G 2WD HI, RM158,800 for the 1.6T 2WD HI, and RM178,800 for the 1.6T AWD HI (Selling price excluding insurance, road tax and registration costs).
