Honda Malaysia announced that it sold 72,301 cars in 2025, representing an 8.8% share of the record-breaking 820,752 vehicles sold nationwide last year. This performance cements Honda’s position as the number one non-national passenger vehicle brand in Malaysia for 12 consecutive years, the company says in a press release.
However, when compared to Honda Malaysia’s 2024 performance with 81,600 units delivered, the 2025 figures marked a 9,299-unit decline in sales, and a slight 1.2% dip in market share.
Nevertheless, its dominating performance was led by the HR-V, City, and CR-V, contributing 25% (18,075 units), 24% (17,352 units), and 15% (10,845 units) of the company’s total sales respectively. Honda’s e:HEV range also saw significant uptake, with the electrified variants of the HR-V and CR-V each accounting for more than 30% of the brand’s total hybrid sales.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Narushi Yazaki, said, “I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to our customers for their continued confidence and unwavering trust in the Honda brand, which inspires us to keep raising the bar.”
“We also sincerely thank all stakeholders for their steadfast support over the years, as well as the Malaysian Government for its continued support for our sustainability and electrification initiatives. The solid performance in 2025 has further strengthened our confidence in Honda’s product direction and reinforced our commitment to delivering practical electrification solutions,” he added.

In 2025, Honda Malaysia launched three new models: the Civic facelift, the HR-V facelift, and the fully electric Honda e:N1. The latter is the company’s first EV in Malaysia, and is the first of a trio of EV models due to be unveiled by 2027.
It’s not clear yet if we’ll see the second Honda EV here in 2026, but a particular suitable candidate would be the Honda Super-ONE supermini, which recently made its production debut in Singapore.
The Super-ONE features an electric motor producing 95 hp and 162 Nm. While those figures sound modest, the fact that the car is actually smaller than a Perodua Axia ensures it will be quite darty and fun to drive. This is especially true when equipped with the exclusive Boost Mode, a simulated seven-speed gearbox, and the Active Sound Control system borrowed from the Honda Prelude to mimic a combustion engine.
