The Lexus RZ600e F Sport Performance is a souped-up EV SUV for the ricer in you

The ‘ricer’ movement isn’t usually associated with Lexus, but it seems that the Japanese luxury marque is trying its damnest to change that – with the new special edition Lexus RZ600e F Sport Performance. I mean, just look at this thing.

There are vents on the carbon fibre bonnet for an engine that doesn’t exist; aero vanes and strakes behind the wheel arches, and at the back, there are not one, but two wings, all made out of fancy carbon fibre.

You can have the RZ600e in any colour, as long as it’s HAKUGIN II Silver or Neutrino Grey, both with blacked out bonnet and roof sections. A dash of blue on the six-pot brake callipers and A pillar help give it a dash of pizzazz to the otherwise rather monotonous exterior, and further tie it into the interior.

There, you’ll find special front seats made using an “integrated foam moulding process” that’s said to provide better support in the corners, and wrapped in Ultrasuede material for extra grip and sportscar look.

Luckily, the RZ600e is not just all show and no go. Based on the RZ550e, the juiced up special edition gets a higher combined output at 426 hp (vs 408 hp on the RZ550e) thanks to reworked “battery output limits” – although its century sprint time remains the same at 4.4 seconds.

It’ll also stop faster, courtesy of the aforementioned larger brakes, with the rotors measuring 20 inches in diameter, and the whole car also sits 20 mm lower than the donor model, which Lexus says has given the RZ600e F Sport Performance better aerodynamic performance and reduced drag.

Otherwise, it inherits the RZ550e’s 77 kWh battery pack, which is enough to give it up to 525 km of range (WLTC). The Interactive Manual Drive emulated gearbox system, alongside the yoke-style steering wheel, should also give drivers a little bit more race car drama.

The Lexus RZ600e F Sport Performance will be offered as a “special edition” model in Japan, priced at around JPY12 million (approx. RM311k). It’s probably not making its way into Malaysia, though if you’re still interested in an electric Lexus, the RZ is available here in a single RZ450e Luxury variant, priced at RM429,888.
