Naza Italia ends 16-year Maserati distributorship in Malaysia

Naza Italia has announced that it will end its 16-year tenure as the official importer and distributor of Maserati in Malaysia. The company has formally notified the Italian carmaker of its intention to conclude the partnership, in accordance with the 180-day contractual notice period required by the agreement originally signed on 1st January 2009.

During this transition, Naza Italia assures existing Maserati owners that they will not be affected. The company remains fully operational, committing to ensuring that all after-sales services, warranty claims, and support channels remain operational without disruption.

According to Naza Italia, the decision to part ways with Maserati is part of Naza Automotive Group’s broader strategy to streamline its portfolio and intensify efforts on core volume brands and emerging growth areas.

Among these is Suzuki Cars Malaysia. Under the helm of Naza Eastern Motors, the group plans to aggressively expand its Suzuki dealership network across the nation over the next three years to capture a larger share of the mass market.

This shift is already evident with the recent launch of the Suzuki Fronx in the Malaysian market, the marque’s first proper mass-market model here. Looking ahead, the group could also soon introduce the marque’s first fully electric vehicle (EV), the Suzuki e-Vitara, having previously teased the model’s arrival on social media.

Simultaneously, Naza Group also said that it intends to elevate its presence in the luxury segment. Case in point, Naza has recently launched Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar under its subsidiary, NZ Wheels. It is the third Stars@Mercedes-Benz showroom globally and the first in Southeast Asia to showcase the brand’s latest retail experience.

Spanning 1,800 square metres across two floors, the facility is backed by an RM5 million investment from NZ Wheels. It is designed to showcase the most exclusive models from the group, including Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, the iconic G-Class, and flagship Mercedes-Benz models.
