Bermaz Motor has today reintroduced the 1.5-litre variant of the Mazda 3 in Malaysia, following its discontinuation in 2023. The Mazda 3 lineup now starts with the new Mazda 3 1.5L High Plus, priced at RM119,620, on-the-road, without insurance.
This Mazda 3 1.5L High Plus is fully imported (CBU) from Japan and is available in both Sedan and Liftback guises. The new pricing makes it some RM29,700 more affordable than when the previous 1.5-litre variant was last available in Malaysia.

Despite being the entry-level Mazda 3, the new 1.5L variant is equipped with the same specification as its more expensive 2.0L variant, courtesy of its High Plus trim grade. These include automatic LED headlights with Signature Illumination, which replaces the halogen units found in the previous 1.5L model. Wheel sizes are also upgraded to 18-inch units, up from the 16-inch units offered previously.
The one difference is the omission of a powered sunroof here, compared to its pricier siblings. Other exterior equipment found on the Mazda 3 1.5L High Plus includes:
- Automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers
- Automatic LED headlights and tailights with Signature Illumination with auto-levelling feature
- LED rear fog light
- Power-adjustable side mirrors with integrated turn indicators and auto-fold feature
- 18-inch alloy wheels (finished in silver for the Sedan and grey for the Liftback)
- Rear wiper (Liftback only)
- Rear spoiler (Liftback only)
Like the exterior, the interior of the Mazda 3 1.5L High Plus also features similar equipment found in the 2.0L variants. These include leather upholstery, 10-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat and memory function, and dual-zone climate control with rear air vents. The interior further benefits from a 10.25-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system and wireless Apple CarPlay.

The Mazda 3 1.5L High Plus is powered by the same SkyActiv-G naturally aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine as before, which produces 118 hp and 153 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox. Fuel efficiency is rated at 5.8 L/100km for the Sedan and 5.9 L/100km for the Liftback, measured on the NEDC cycle.
Unlike its predecessor, the new Mazda 3 1.5L High Plus comes standard with a suite of ADAS features. It also includes the GVC Plus torque vectoring system, a reverse camera with guidelines, and eight parking sensors (four front, four rear). The ADAS features include:

- High-beam control (HBC)
- Blind spot monitors (BSM)
- Rear cross traffic alert (RCTA)
- Front cross traffic alert (FCTA)
- Lane departure warning (LDW)
- Lane keep assist (LKA)

The Mazda 3 1.5L High Plus is available in five exterior colours. These are Soul Red Crystal, Polymetal Gray, Jet Black, Platinum Quartz, and Machine Gray.
