Proton has announced that the soon-to-be-launched all-new Proton X50 has already secured 5,000 bookings in just 10 days since opening its order books, as it goes on a nationwide pre-launch tour. This strong initial demand comes ahead of the B-segment SUV’s official launch and price reveal, which is set for 24 July 2025.
According to the national brand, the 5,000 bookings represent a 50% uptake of the early-bird offer. This offer, which will be given to the first 10,000 customers, consists of a RM1,000 cash rebate, a special edition Touch ‘n Go card, and an exclusive “Gempak! Deal.”
In response to the strong reception, Proton has been ramping up production to ensure cars are ready for delivery to customers immediately after the launch.
“Proton’s production team at Tanjong Malim have also worked hard to build up our stock levels to enable the delivery of cars to customers immediately after the launch. The target is to have at least 5,000 units ready for registration by the end of August, which will help manage the time it takes for a customer to receive their vehicle after placing an order,” said Proton Edar Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Zhang Qiang.

We previously reported in detail on the new exterior of the all-new Proton X50, which you can read here. A major highlight is its new engine, as all variants will now feature a new 1.5-litre turbocharged straight-four engine, replacing the outgoing three-banger. The new mill produces 181 hp and 290 Nm of torque, sent to the front wheels for a 0-100 km/h time of 7.6 seconds.
Inside, the Proton X50 also sees a complete redesign, receiving an interior layout similar to the Proton eMAS 7 (stylised Proton e.MAS 7). The cabin is now equipped with a large 14.6-inch freestanding infotainment display, while the driver gets a modern, letterbox-style digital instrument cluster.
There’s only less than a week to go before the official launch of the all-new Proton X50’s official launch, and crucially, the reveal of its sticker price. We will be there to cover the launch as usual, so stay tuned for our full coverage!
