Y.A.M Tengku Laksamana Selangor, Tengku Sulaiman Shah Ibni Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, has just taken delivery of his brand new custom-made Proton X90.
This one-of-a-kind Proton X90 joins the exclusive stablemates of Tengku Sulaiman Shah’s garage, which includes the Proton Perdana, X70, and X50 – all of which are customised by Automotive Conversion Engineering (ACE), a special division within Proton specialising in customising vehicles.
Revealed in a video on Proton’s Facebook page, Tengku Sulaiman Shah’s Proton X90 is dressed up with a unique two-tone paint job on the outside, with the body finished in Cinnamon Brown, while a silver strip bisects the car through the front bonnet and roof.
Like all of his customised Protons, the exterior of this special Proton X90 also comes with a Proton ‘Harimau Malaya’ ornament on the bonnet, replete with ‘Proton X90 Special Edition’ script on its base. A custom multi-spoke alloy wheels in silver complete the X90’s royal look.
Mirroring the exterior design, the cabin of Tengku Sulaiman Shah’s special Proton X90 is also decked out in a two-tone white and red upholstery. The captain chairs in the second-row looks to be identical to that of the top-of-the-line Flagship variant, although since this car is meant for a royal, there are some additional premium touches inside as well.
These include the folding tables behind the front seats (with a very Maybach-like look on its surrounding trims), as well as a walnut and leather finish for the steering wheel up front.

We expect the powertrain of the X90 to to remain unchanged here, featuring a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine that is paired to a belt starter generator (BSG) for a combined output of 190 hp and 300 Nm. This setup is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels.
For us regular mortals, the standard Proton X90 starts at a price of RM123,800 for the base Standard variant, to RM152,800 for the range-topping Flagship variant. But for a custom-made X90 like Tengku Sulaiman Shah’s? We reckon that one costs way more than that!
