BMW M3, M4 Competition xDrive in Malaysia – new looks, upgraded performance, RM891k-RM923k

First announced last year, BMW Malaysia is now showcasing the updated BMW M4 Competition xDrive in its first public debut at the My BMW World 2025 event. The updated performance coupe is priced from RM922,900 on-the-road, without insurance, and inclusive of the extended warranty package, but if you prefer a more practical sedan bodystyle, the updated M3 Competition xDrive is also now available in Malaysia, priced from RM890,900.

Alongside the M4 Competition xDrive, the new BMW M2 and the all-new BMW M5 were also unveiled at the event yesterday.

The standout upgrade in the updated M3 and M4 Competition xDrive facelift models is a power boost. Their 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder S58 engines now produce 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque—an increase of 20 hp. Power is delivered to all four wheels through an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission.

Both cars accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a blisteringly quick 3.5 seconds and boast a top speed of 250 km/h. With the optional. M Driver’s Package, the top speed on both cars can be further de-restricted up to 290 km/h.

The new BMW M3 and M4 Competition xDrive have been given a facelift as part of their latest update, in line with the rest of the 3- and 4-Series line-up. On the outside, both models sport redesigned front headlights with vertical daytime running lights, a design element seen across BMW’s latest models. They also feature M Lights Shadowline for a more aggressive appearance.

The staggered 19/20-inch M forged double-spoke style wheels feature a new fully blacked-out look and are complemented by the M High-Gloss Shadowline trim. At the back, both cars seem largely identical to their predecessors but the M4 Competition xDrive benefits from the optional laser taillights that were first seen in the extremely limited BMW M4 CSL

Inside, both the M3 and M4 Competition xDrive will feature a refreshed cabin that mirrors updates seen in the latest 3 Series. A newly redesigned, slim instrument panel now houses revised air vents, which are operated by sleek joystick-like controls, here finished in galvanic metal.

Mounted on the dashboard is BMW’s Curved Display, which includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch central Control Display with an M-specific interface running on BMW Operating System 8.5. Adding to the updated interior is a new three-spoke M leather steering wheel, now featuring a flat-bottomed design with a distinctive 12 o’clock marker, and, of course, plenty of carbon.

Prices for the new BMW M3 and M4 Competition xDrive starts from RM890,900 and RM922,900 respectively. These prices are inclusive of BMW’s service and repair package, which offers a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and five years or 100,000 km of service coverage. Without the package, the price of the M3 Competition xDrive drops to RM838,800 while the M4 Competition xDrive drops to RM870,800.
