BMW Malaysia has launched the updated 2025 BMW M2 in Malaysia, with a handful of big changes inside and out. The baby M coupe from Germany is now priced at RM693,100 on-the-road, without insurance, and inclusive of the BMW Service and Repair Inclusive (BSRI) programme.
First up, the M2’s 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six S58 engine is now more powerful, making 480 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This is a 20 hp and 50 Nm increase over its previous iteration. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which allows a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.
If you’re expecting a manual transmission to be introduced with this update to the BMW M2 in Malaysia, you will be disappointed, because the M2 will (still) officially be available with two pedals only here. Besides, the slush-box is the only one with 600 Nm of torque, whereas the manual only has to make do with 550 Nm of torque.
Exterior-wise, the BMW M2 still retains its divisive design, though it gains new equipment such as a silver-bordered BMW M2 badge and a pair of adaptive LED headlights with matrix technology. The staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels in Double-spoke style 930 M are now finished in silver, a change from the previous black.
Other elements, such as the black-finished exhaust tailpipes, M Carbon Roof, high-gloss Shadowline trim, and the red high-gloss M Compound brakes, remain unchanged.

Inside, the most noticeable change is the steering wheel, which is now a flat-bottomed M leather steering wheel with a red 12 o’clock marker, alongside redesigned air vents.
What remain unchanged are the 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the driver’s 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, M Carbon Fibre trim finishers, velour floor mats, and Vernasca leather upholstery in black. These are complemented by a host of exclusive M-interior trimmings, such as the M headliner in anthracite and M seat belts.
In Malaysia, the new BMW M2 is available with a range of exterior colours. These include the new Fire Red metallic, M Zandvoort Blue, Alpine White, M Sao Paulo Yellow, Brooklyn Grey, Black Sapphire, M Portimao Blue, and Skyscraper Grey.
The refreshed BMW M2 is priced at RM693,100 inclusive of the BMW Service and Repair Inclusive (BSRI) programme. This includes a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and five-year or 100,000 km of service coverage. Without the BSRI programme, the BMW M2 is priced at RM650,800.
