Isuzu Malaysia appoints Tomoyuki Yamaguchi as new CEO, promises improved service and parts availability

Isuzu Malaysia has appointed Tomoyuki Yamaguchi as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who will be assuming the role April 24, 2025. Yamaguchi will be succeeding Shunsuke Okazoe, who will be returning to Japan following his appointment as the Vice President of Isuzu’s Japan sales division.

Yamaguchi will be bringing with him a wealth of international experience to Malaysia, having started his career with Isuzu Motors back in 1997. A graduate from Toyo University, Yamaguchi previously served in the International Operations Department for the Russia and Ukraine, before shifting his focus to markets across South-West Asia, where he worked for more than a decade.

In his most recent role, Yamaguchi headed Isuzu’s commercial vehicle operations in South Africa, where he played a key role in revitalising the company’s commercial vehicle business in the region.

Commenting on his appointment, Yamaguchi noted the brand’s solid foothold in Malaysia despite only having been incorporated two decades ago.

“Isuzu Malaysia remains a model of excellence in the global perspective. The operations here have established a base of loyal customers who recognize the strengths and capabilities of Isuzu vehicles. This augurs well for the establishment of life-long customers of the brand. However, we need to continuously strive to make every customer experience a positive one. I hope to work with the team and our dealers to bring customer satisfaction to the next level,” said Yamaguchi.
