Isuzu Malaysia has officially launched the facelifted 2026 Isuzu D-Max. The updated pickup truck arrives with nine variants across both single- and double-cab body styles. Prices range from RM103,121 to RM162,938, on-the-road without insurance, inclusive of private registration costs.
Under the bonnet, the Isuzu D-Max range in Malaysia now receives the all-new 2.2-litre turbodiesel MaxForce engine, which features redesigned cylinders for improved oil flow, along with high-swirl cylinder heads for cleaner combustion. It is also paired with an electronic variable geometry turbocharger, as well as new high-pressure direct injectors, low-friction pistons, and a revised electronic control unit (ECU).

These mechanicals allow the 2.2-litre engine to produce 163 hp and 400 Nm, a 13 hp and 50 Nm improvement over the previous 1.9-litre engine. However, the 2.2-litre engine’s output is still lower than the 3.0-litre turbodiesel in the Premium and X-Terrain variants, which produce 190 hp and 450 Nm.
This new engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that was co-developed with Aisin, which Isuzu claims reduces extra-urban fuel consumption by 10.7%. A six-speed manual gearbox also remains available across both single- and double-cab body styles. Notably, the 2026 D-Max is claimed by Isuzu to be the first single-cab pickup truck in Malaysia to be offered with an automatic gearbox.
Regardless of transmission options, power is sent to all four wheels via Isuzu’s 4WD system on almost all variants, with the exception of the Auto Plus 4×2, which remains rear-wheel drive.

Apart from the new powertrain, the Isuzu D-Max gains revised exterior styling. While appearing similar at first glance, the pickup features a new front grille paired with fresh headlamp and foglamp bezels. At the rear, the LED tail lamp cluster has been updated with a new pattern. For the X-Terrain and Premium variants, these models now sit on new 18-inch alloy wheels and feature updated side steps.
Also new for 2026 are several exterior colours. The Isuzu D-Max gains Inishmore Green Metallic for the X-Terrain and Premium variants, while Obsidian Gray Mica is now available for the Premium and Auto Plus models. Additionally, Namibu Orange has been extended across the range of High-Ride automatic double cabs.
The new automatic Single Cab also receives its own unique option in Mercury Silver Metallic, and all automatic variants are further distinguished by body-coloured front bumpers.
