Audi has unveiled the all-new Audi A6 Sedan, following the debut of its estate sibling, the Audi A6 Avant, last month.
The main difference between the Audi A6 Sedan and Avant is, naturally, their body styles. Audi press materials emphasise the sedan’s blend of elegance and sportiness, thanks to its large aggressive front grille and a stately profile.
Even as a large sedan, the company states the new Audi A6 Sedan is its most aerodynamically efficient internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle to date, with a drag coefficient of just 0.23Cd.
Like the Audi A6 Avant, the sedan features matrix LED headlights. At the back, full-width taillights adorn the rear fascia, built on an OLED panel with 396 individual OLED segments per taillight. While the front grille appears similar to the Avant’s at first glance, the front air intakes have a different design from its estate counterpart.
Audi states that sound insulation has been improved by up to 30% compared to the previous generation. This improvement is attributed to more tightly sealed windows, optimised seals on the doors and tailgate, sound absorbers inside the wheels and tyres, and redesigned engine and transmission mounts, all of which contribute to a smoother and quieter ride.

In addition to providing a comfortable ride, the A6 Sedan also boasts a host of technology. These include a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen display, an 11.9-inch digital gauge cluster for the driver, and the option of a 10.9-inch touchscreen display for the front passenger.
The infotainment system is now powered by Android Automotive OS. This enables the download of various third-party apps from Audi’s application store, with over-the-air (OTA) content updates much like a smartphone, and even incorporates ChatGPT!
Similar to its estate sibling, the Audi A6 Sedan is available in three powertrains globally. These include:
- 2.0-litre TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 204 hp and 340 Nm in a front-wheel-drive (FWD) set up
- 2.0-litre TDI turbodiesel four-cylinder with 48-volt mild hybrid delivering 204 hp and 400 Nm. Available in FWD or Quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD)
- 3.0-litre TFSI turbocharged V6 with 48-volt mild hybrid delivering 367 hp and 550 Nm. Available in AWD.
All three powertrains are paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which results in 0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds for the petrol 2.0-litre, 7.8 seconds for the diesel, and 4.7 seconds for the V6.
Certain variants of the A6 Sedan also incorporate a 48-volt mild hybrid system (MHEV Plus) which is also on the A6 Avant. This system, comprising a 48-volt battery, a belt alternator starter (BAS), and a powertrain generator (PTG) with integrated power electronics, provides electric assistance to the engine, particularly at low speeds.
Optional drivetrain features include all-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension, which adjusts ride height and damping. The V6 variant can also be equipped with the quattro sport differential, as seen on the A6 Avant.

The Audi A6 Sedan comes standard with the company’s driving and parking assistance package, which includes adaptive cruise control, a speed limiter that responds to traffic signs, a rear-view camera, and park assist plus.
Other standard safety features include park assist plus with distance display, lane departure warning, cross-traffic assist, swerve assist, front turn assist, and emergency brake assistant.
The Audi A6 Sedan will be priced from EUR55,000 (approx. RM276k) and can be ordered in Europe starting in mid-April 2025, with deliveries to customers starting in summer 2025.
