Video: Volvo EX90 now in Malaysia from RM443k – 4.9S century sprint in a 7-Seater!

Looking for a roomy fully electric (EV) SUV that can fit a family of seven, but still sporting a luxurious and stylish interior? The Volvo EX90 might be the perfect car for you.

The EX90 is larger than the Volvo XC90 in every dimension, but height. It also resembles the Volvo XC90, but it has a LiDAR sensor on top of the windscreen, and a unique split design for the taillights. Plus, the Volvo EX90 sports a version of pop-up headlights where they reveal themselves from inside the daytime running lights (DRLs)!

Reflecting Swedish minimalism, the cabin features a large portrait-oriented 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Furthermore, it distinguishes itself from the smaller Volvo EX30 by including a nine-inch letterbox-style digital instrument cluster, positioned behind the steering wheel.

Powering the Volvo EX90 in Malaysia is a dual-motor electric setup with an all-wheel drive (AWD) drivetrain that delivers 517 hp and 910 Nm. This propels the EX90 from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and onwards to a Volvo-governed top speed of 180 km/h.

Thanks to the onboard 111 kWh (107 kWh usable) Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery pack, the Volvo EX90 has a range of 623 km (WLTP). Charging is supported with 11 kW AC charging and DC charging at 250 kW, the latter allowing a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes.

Priced at RM442,888, it’s offered as a single variant dubbed the “Ultra Twin”. Will you pick the EX90 or go for the more traditional internal combustion Volvo XC90?
