Porsche is updating its infotainment system for the 2025 model year vehicles, with additional functions and feature sets to be added to the Porsche 911, Taycan, Panamera, and Cayenne.
With the update, the infotainment system, dubbed the Porsche Communication Management (PCM), now has access to the Porsche App Centre, and offers new features including Dolby Atmos sound experience, Amazon Alexa digital assistant, and an expanded Porsche Connect package. The latter will now be included as standard for 10 years, according to the Stuttgart-based carmaker.
This system first debuted on the all-new Porsche Macan, launched in Malaysia last year. According to Porsche, the new PCM system, based on Android Automotive OS, is now more responsive and offers additional capabilities, such as direct access to a large number of third-party apps.
Downloaded through the Porsche App Centre, these third-party apps include popular streaming apps for music, video, and podcasts, as well as news services, media libraries, and weather apps.
Porsche also states that apps for researching places of interest, appealing driving routes, and charging points for electric vehicles, along with gaming and karaoke apps, will be offered. Karaoke in a Porsche instead of listening to that glorious engine sound? Each to their own, we guess… unless you’re in a whisper-quiet fully electric Porsche.

Like every other carmaker jumping on the bandwagon to put digital assistants in their cars, Porsche is also chucking in Amazon Alexa into the updated PCM system, so you can control your smart home equipment like garage doors or lights, or get help with everyday tasks like to-do lists and shopping lists. If you want to use Alexa in your Porsche, you can just say ‘Alexa’ via Porsche Voice Pilot or tap a button or icon in the PCM.
For all you audiophiles out there, Bose and Burmester sound systems in Porsches are also getting Dolby Atmos surround sound – but this only works if your audio source supports Dolby Atmos, and Porsche says there are corresponding apps available in its app centre.
