All-new Toyota Hilux spotted testing in Thailand before its 2025 launch

Headlightmag over in Thailand has captured shots of the all-new Toyota Hilux “Travo” in the wild undergoing testing prior to its world debut in the kingdom in the second half of 2025.

Although heavily camouflaged, picking out the redesign of the front end is relatively easy. Previously, Headlightmag also posted a render of the new Hilux front end and they appear to have gotten it spot on.

The front facade has received a redesign for the fenders, bumper, grille, bonnet and headlight. Needless to say, the rear was also on the receiving end of those new pen strokes. Even under the heavy camo wrap, you can just make a new look for the fenders, tailgate and taillights.

Additionally, the Toyota may have integrated more convenience-minded features such as a step behind the rear wheel arch for easier climbing into the bed. Nonetheless, this new Hilux still retains the same cabin structure area and side body shell, meaning it recycles some of the larger panels but carries new ones at the front and rear.

It was previously reported that the next-generation all-new Toyota Hilux will be a heavy “update” of the current-generation model rather than a completely new model developed from the ground up. The fact that essentially the entire cab portion of the test mule was left uncamouflaged certainly supports that claim.

As for the engines, the current GD diesel engine family should continue to power the Hilux but with some minor improvements to meet Euro 5 and Euro 6 emission standards.

Another improvement expected would be electric power steering, given that it’s already found on the mild-hybrid Hilux variants.

According to trademark papers filed by Toyota with the Department of Intellectual Property, the Hilux name should be suffixed by Travo. Given that every full-model change or substantial facelift for the Hilux has seen a new suffix attached, this is par for course.

The new 2025 Hilux Travo will launch in Thailand somewhere during the second half of 2025.
