Exciting times are ahead for Proton, following the launch of the national brand’s first fully electric vehicle (EV), the Proton eMAS 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7). A surprise announcement during the launch event revealed that the “Hi Proton” voice command feature will soon support Bahasa Malaysia.
The “Hi Proton” intelligent voice command system was initially introduced with the GKUI-based infotainment system, now superseded by ACO Tech’s ATLAS OS found in several current Proton models, including the S70, X50, X70, and X90.
Once activated with the “Hi Proton” keyphrase, the system allows users to control various settings in their cars, such as adjusting climate controls and opening or closing the sunroof and windows.
Speaking of the Proton e.MAS 7, the national brand’s first EV is now launched in two variants: Prime and Premium. Both variants are powered by a front-mounted 12-in-one electric motor, delivering 218 hp (160 kW) and 320 Nm.
This translates to a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.9 seconds for the Prime variant and 7.1 seconds for the Premium variant.
Both variants are equipped with Geely’s proprietary Aegis short blade battery technology. The Prime variant features a 49.52 kWh battery pack, providing a WLTP-rated range of 345 km, while the Premium variant boasts a larger 60.22 kWh battery pack, increasing the range to 410 km (WLTP).

Pricing for the Proton eMAS 7 starts from RM109,800 on-the-road without insurance for the Prime variant, going up to RM123,800 for the Premium.
Inclusive in the price is a six-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000 km high voltage battery and components warranty. Additionally, there is a special launch offer of RM4,000 for the first 3,000 customers of the Proton eMAS 7 which brings the price down to RM105,800 for the Prime variant and RM119,800 for the Premium variant.
