Zeekr has officially announced the start of its operations in Malaysia, with bookings now open for the Zeekr X and Zeekr 009. Representing the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer in the country is Sentinel Automotive Sdn Bhd, the distributor responsible for sales, after-sales service and parts.
The Zeekr X is built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture 2 (SEA2) platform, shared with the Smart #1, Smart #3 and the Volvo EX30. It measures 4,450 mm long, 1,836 mm wide, and 1,572 mm tall, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. This makes it larger than the Smart #1 and Volvo EX30, but smaller than the BYD Atto 3.
Offered in two variants, the Premium variant features a single rear motor, producing 268 hp and achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The Flagship AWD variant boasts a dual-motor setup, generating 422 hp and reaching 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Zeekr claims the Flagship to be the most powerful and quickest in its class.

Both Zeekr X variants have a 66 kWh battery with 150 kW DC charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in 30 minutes. Based on the Australian specification with the same battery pack, the single-motor RWD variant has a range of 540 km (ADR81/02 test cycle), while the dual-motor AWD variant achieves 470 km (ADR81/02 test cycle).
Safety systems on the Zeekr X are standard across both variants, with an extensive range of passive integrated safety protection systems and a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). In terms of pricing, the Zeekr X is expected to start below RM180,000.
Those looking for a more practical option can consider the Zeekr 009. Claimed by Zeekr to be the most powerful MPV on the market, the 009 is equipped with dual motors for an all-wheel drive setup with 603 hp and 693 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
The Zeekr 009 is available in two variants: a Luxury 7-seater and the Ultra Luxury 6-seater. Both are equipped with a 116 kWh battery with a WLTP range of 582 km, and 150 kW DC charging capable of achieving a 10% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes.

Behind the wheel of the luxury MPV sits a 10.25-inch driver’s display and a 15.05-inch OLED touchscreen infotainment system. Rear passengers are treated to a 17-inch OLED roof-mounted screen accompanied by a 30-speaker sound system.
Similar to the X, the Zeekr 009 comes standard with a range of passive safety systems and a comprehensive suite of ADAS features. Prices for the 009 are expected to start below RM370,000.
The booking fee is set at RM2,000 for the Zeekr X and RM4,000 for the Zeekr 009.
