BYD Cars Malaysia, through its Facebook page has confirmed that the 2024 BYD Seal Dynamic will be launched in Malaysia on September 6, 2024. The Seal Dynamic is the entry-level variant of the Seal, which was earlier planned to be launched in Malaysia with the other two variants but has been delayed.
Essentially just a new variant, the Seal Dynamic doesn’t introduce a new look to the Seal (except for its base elements). With the upcoming debut of the Seal Dynamic in Malaysia, there will be three variants of the BYD Seal for customers to choose from – Dynamic, Premium, and Performance.

Being an entry-level variant means the BYD Seal Dynamic gets the smallest battery pack and the least powerful electric motor. It gets the same single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup as the Premium variant but makes less power at 203 hp (metric) and less torque at 310 Nm (The Premium makes 313 hp metric and 360 Nm). The Dynamic variant also has the slowest 0-100 km/h acceleration time at 7.5 seconds.
As for its battery and range, the BYD Seal Dynamic gets a 61.4 kWh LFP battery that provides up to 460 km of range (WLTP). The Dynamic variant also gets a slower maximum DC charging rate of 110 kW (Premium and Performance can handle 150 kW). Its AC charging rate is identical to the rest of the lineup at 7 kW single phase. Also standard is a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function.

BYD Cars Malaysia has also revealed images of the upcoming BYD Seal Dynamic for Malaysia. In the pictures, we can see the smaller 18-inch wheels that it gets, its front profile, as well as a front three-quarter shot. In China, the new BYD Seal facelift has been unveiled, with the car now getting a new dashboard, 800V architecture, and a roof-mounted LiDAR for some variants. In Malaysia, the BYD Seal’s prices currently start at RM179,800. With the new entry-level Dynamic variant, the starting price will be much lower.
