2025 Proton X70 facelift to launch on August 15


The 2025 Proton X70 facelift will be officially launched on August 15. That is 7 days to go until the official price is revealed for the refreshed SUV, which was unveiled last week.

Proton posted a “7 days to go” picture on its social media account, with a caption reading “Malaysia’s best-selling premium SUV is about to redefine expectations. Just 7 days until the grand unveiling of the 2025 Proton X70”. It also features a registration of interest link.

The Proton X70 facelift has just been unveiled last week and it will finally get the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The 1.8-litre TGDI engine has been dropped alongside the Flagship variant. It will now be offered in 4 variants only namely Standard, Executive, Premium, and Premium X.

The car gets a new face from Geely Boyue Pro with a Proton touch. It comes standard with new LED headlights, a new Songket-inspired grille, and new alloy rims. The Executive variant adds 18-inch rims and a powered tailgate while both the Premium variants will be getting 19-inch alloy rims and exclusively to the Premium X is the addition of a panoramic sunroof.

Power-wise, the Proton X70 facelift comes with a 1.5-litre TGDI 3-cylinder engine with a rated output of 177 hp and 255 Nm. The new X70 has a fuel consumption rate of 7.3 l/100km which is a 4% reduction from the 2022 Proton X70.

As for the interior, the X70 revamps its outgoing dashboard with a revised middle trim, and ambient lighting, as well as a new 12.3-inch floating head unit that now supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The instrument cluster has also been updated alongside the new steering wheel and door trims.

As for the safety department, the new X70 comes with Intelligent Cruise Control, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Centering Control, Traffic Sign Information, Rear Collision Warning, and Rear Cross-traffic Alert.
