Mitsubishi XForce scores 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating

The Mitsubishi XForce has achieved a maximum 5-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries). The XForce managed an overall score of 79.15 points, demonstrating strong performance in adult and child occupant protection, safety assist technologies, and motorcyclist safety.

The tests were conducted according to the program’s latest and more demanding ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 protocol, in which it scored 34.89/40.00 in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, 17.03/20.00 for Child Occupant Protection (COP), 14.85/20.00 for safety Assist (SA), and 12.39/20.00 for Motorcyclist Safety (MS).

The XForce prioritizes safety with a comprehensive suite of features. Standard equipment includes 4 airbags (upgradable to 6 airbags), an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control, seatbelt reminders, and pedestrian protection technology. To enhance driver assistance, the model offers adaptive cruise control (ACC), automatic high beam, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward collision mitigation.

Power-wise, the Mitsubishi XForce is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine producing 105 hp and 141 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission. To enhance driving dynamics, Mitsubishi has included four drive modes namely Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud.

In terms of dimensions, the XForce measures 4,390 mm long, 1,810 mm wide, 1,660 mm tall, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. That makes the XForce more or less similar in size to the Honda HR-V. The latter is 4,385 mm long, 1,790 mm wide, 1,590 mm tall, with a 2,610 mm wheelbase.

Already launched in Indonesia upon its ASEAN debut, the XForce is also available in Vietnam. Could we see the all-new Mitsubishi XForce on our road soon?
