BMW has unveiled a new variant of the X3 specifically tailored for the Chinese market. The latest iteration of the BMW X3 (G45) features an extended wheelbase for the first time, enhancing rear legroom and comfort.
Two variants will be offered exclusively in China namely X3 25L xDrive and X3 30L xDrive. It is developed through a close collaboration between BMW and their counterparts in Shenyang. These models are manufactured at BMW Brilliance Automotive’s (BBA) Lydia plant in Shenyang.

Size-wise, the X3 long-wheelbase measures 4,865 mm length, 1,920 mm width, and 1,676 mm height. The wheelbase of the new X3 long-wheelbase has been increased by 110 mm to 2,975 mm compared with the globally available model variants of the new BMW X3.
Exterior-wise, the X3 lineup offers distinct styling options. The X3 25L xDrive comes standard with the M Sport Package and titanium bronze accents, while the X3 30L xDrive features a sportier aesthetic with increased black accents. Both models incorporate BMW’s Iconic Glow grille lighting and offer a choice of six metallic paint finishes, including a premium Frozen option.

The BMW X3 long wheelbase is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine with two power outputs. The X3 25L xDrive delivers 190 hp (metric) and 310 Nm, while the X3 30L xDrive offers 258 hp (metric) and 400 Nm. Both variants are mated to the 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
Interior-wise, the new X3 models feature the BMW Curved Display with the Operating System 9 (OS9), BMW Interaction Bar, and a flat bottom steering wheel. BMW’s OS9 for China supports a variety of digital services exclusive to China. The BMW Digital Premium range’s content is also specifically designed to cater to local customer needs.

The Veganza sports seats offer a choice of three 2-tone color combinations. Additional customization includes optional glass applications for a premium look. Rear passengers enjoy increased legroom and comfort features like standard cushions and a center armrest with wireless charging. A panoramic glass roof with optional ambient lighting enhances the cabin atmosphere.
The BMW X3 long wheelbase has achieved strong sales performance in China, contributing significantly to the brand’s global success. The previous generation was BMW’s best-selling model worldwide in 2023, with approximately 156,000 units sold in China alone, representing around 40% of total BMW X model sales in the country.
