2024 Zeekr X launched in Singapore – 2 variants, up to 440km range

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, Zeekr, has officially entered the Singaporean market with the launch of its X model. The Zeekr X comes with two variants, namely Standard RWD which retail at SGD199,999 (approx. RM665k) and Flagship AWD which retail at SGD214,999 (approx. RM715k). The company has further outlined plans to introduce the 009 MPV to the market soon.

Built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture 2 (SEA2) platform, which also underpins the Smart #1, Smart #3, and the Volvo EX30, the Zeekr X measures 4,450 mm long, 1,836 mm wide, and 1,572 mm tall, with a 2,750 mm long wheelbase. This makes it larger than the Smart #1 and Volvo EX30, but smaller than the BYD Atto 3.

On the outside, the Zeekr X is fitted with standard features such as LED headlights, LED taillights, a fixed panoramic glass roof, a powered tailgate, and “frameless” side-view mirrors. Wheel-wise, the Standard RWD variant gets 18-inch rims, while the Flagship AWD variant gets larger 19-inch rims with the 20-inch forged wheels being a variant-specific add-on.

Powering the Zeekr X Standard RWD is, as its name suggests, a rear-mounted electric motor putting out 272 hp (metric) and 343 Nm. This allows the all-electric SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, and achieve an electronically limited 190 km/h top speed. The Flagship AWD variant sports a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) electric motor setup, delivering 428 hp (metric) and 543 Nm. This enables the car to catapult from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. It also has the same top speed of 190 km/h.

Both variants of the Zeekr X are fitted with the same 69 kWh battery pack, providing 440 km (WLTP) of range with the Standard RWD variant, and 400 km (WLTP) of range with the Flagship AWD variant due to its more powerful motors. In terms of charging, both variants can be charged via AC charging at a maximum rate of 22 kW, and DC charging at a maximum rate of 158 kW. With the latter, the battery pack can be topped up from 10% to 80% in under 29 minutes.

Interior-wise, the Zeekr X comes standard with vegan-friendly leather upholstery, a powered driver’s seat, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, and dual-zone climate control. Exclusive to the Flapship AWD variant is the multi-colour interior ambient lighting, a powered front passenger seat, a ventilation function for the front seats, and a 13-speaker Yamaha sound system.

The Zeekr X incorporates a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system, evasive maneuver assist, door opening warning, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor enhance safety. A Sentry Mode utilizes the vehicle’s cameras to record surrounding activity when parked if the suspicious activity is detected.
