Gallery: GWM Ora 07 Long Range – The most attention-grabbing EV in Malaysia?

When the GWM Ora 07 first made its debut here in Malaysia, many online (including us) pointed out its resemblance to the Porsche Panamera. But does it really look like one, or is it just because of their similar swoopy shape? Well, we’ve got a whole album of photos of the Ora 07 Long Range, so you can make the judgement yourself.

The GWM Ora 07 is available in two variants, including the Long Range as seen here, as well as a Performance variant tha’s equipped with an additional motor on the rear axle for basically double the outputs. Pricing for the Ora 07 starts at RM169,800 for the Long Range variant here in Malaysia.

Aside from the unique silhouette, the Ora 07 also stands out against its competitors thanks to its retro-inspired styling touches, a retractable spoiler (standard across both variants), as well as the round daytime-running light signature that also doubles as its turn indicators.

The wheels you see here are the smaller 18-inch items, but I personally think these are the nicer-looking ones, as the design of the 19-inch wheels on the Performance variant is just a little too… much.

If the Ora 07’s exterior is inspired by Porsche, then it won’t be too preposterous to say its interior is also inspired by Bugatti, particularly the floating centre console “bridge” with the rotary knobs for climate control and the driving mode switch, and the triple-“dial” digital instrument cluster.

The centre console is also home to a fast 50W wireless charger, a unique hidden cupholder that sits flush with the surface when not in use, and an additional storage compartment underneath. Other interior highlights include the unique panoramic glass roof that stretches across the car’s entire ceiling save for a beam across in the middle, an 11-speaker Harman Infinity sound system, and surprisingly, deep pile carpets.

The Long Range variant of the Ora 07 boasts a single motor on the front axle, making 204 hp and 340 Nm of twist. In performance terms, that’s the century sprint completed in 7.9 seconds, onward to a top speed of 170 km/h. As mentioned above, the Performance essentially doubles in output courtesy of a second motor on the rear axle (408 hp and 680 Nm), which should translate to a century sprint in 4.3 seconds.

Both variants are equipped with the same 83.5 kWh LFP battery pack, which is sufficient for a rated driving range of 640 km (NEDC) on the Long Range variant, and 550 km (NEDC) on the Performance. DC fast charging is supported up to 88 kW, taking approximately 32 minutes to go from 30-80%. AC charging meanwhile is capped at 11 kW, requiring roughly eight hours for a full charge.
