BMW Malaysia has just launched two new special edition X3 models, namely the BMW X3 sDrive20i Final Edition and the BMW X3 xDrive30e Final Edition. Priced from RM338,500, both variants still rock the same respective powertrains underneath but are now dressed with even sportier looks and enhanced equipment.

On the outside, the BMW X3 sDrive20i and BMW X3 xDrive30e Final Edition continue to come with BMW’s M Sport package but now feature the M Lights Shadowline for a sharper-looking front fascia. There’s also the M high-gloss Shadowline for a sportier look.
The X3 xDrive30e Final Edition also gets the exclusive M Sport brake finished in red high-gloss. Colour options for the two special edition X3 models include Carbon Black, Alpine White, and M Brooklyn Grey.

On the safety side of things, BMW Malaysia has added the Active Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go function to the two new special edition X3 models’ ADAS kit. Exclusively, the BMW X3 xDrive30e Final Edition gets the brand’s Parking Assistant Plus package. This includes a 360° surround view camera and Remote View 3D.
As mentioned above, no performance-related changes have been made to the new special edition BMW X3 models. The X3 sDrive20i Final Edition continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 184 hp and 300 Nm. Paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, power is sent to the front wheels only.

The BMW X3 xDrive30e Final Edition on the other hand sports a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, featuring a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and an electric motor. This setup produces a system combined output of 292 hp and 420 Nm. Also paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, power is sent to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
With the all-new fourth-generation Neue-Klasse BMW X3 probably coming soon, could these Final Edition offerings be the third-generation X3’s last hurrah before the arrival of its successor? Aside from the X3, the all-electric iX3 also received a “Final Edition” treatment earlier in April.
