Smart adds ChargeSini into integrated EV charging map – station availability, payments all in one app

Proton New Energy Technology (Pro-Net), Proton’s EV arm and distributor of Smart vehicles in Malaysia, has announced a new partnership with charge point operator (CPO) ChargeSini, which will see the latter’s EV chargers being integrated directly into the Hello Smart mobile app’s EV charging map.

The charging stations will also be included directly in the Smart #1’s on-board navigation system, with real-time status and availability details. Aside from charger availability, Smart owners can also pay for charging sessions at ChargeSini chargers directly through the Hello Smart app.

Together with the previous integrations with Gentari, JomCharge, and ChargEV, Pro-Net says that the Hello Smart app’s EV charging map now boasts over 75% charging coverage nationwide, and is also currently the first and only app in Malaysia which provides the access to charging stations across four different CPOs.

The new enhancements will be added to the Hello Smart app in the third quarter this year (Q3 2024), the company says in a statement.
