Proton eMAS 5 adds Jade Green to the palette – prices remain unchanged

Pro-Net, the new energy subsidiary of Proton, announced that the Proton eMAS 5 (stylised as e.MAS 5) is now available in a new exterior colour, Jade Green. This new shade joins the existing palette of Marble Cream, Moonstone White, Graphite Silver, Slate Grey, and Quartz Rose, bringing the total to six exterior colour options.

Prices for the Proton eMAS 5 remain unchanged at RM59,800 for the Prime and RM72,800 for the Premium variant. Inside, the electric hatchback offers two themes. Alabaster White is exclusive to the Marble Cream and Quartz Rose Premium variants, while Flint Grey is paired with the Moonstone White, Graphite Silver, and Slate Grey exterior paint jobs.

Beyond the new paint job, the technical specifications of the Proton eMAS 5 remain as they were at launch. The entry-level Prime continues to be powered by a rear-mounted traction motor producing 79 hp (58 kW) and 130 Nm. Equipped with a 30.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack sourced from CATL, the Prime variant boasts a WLTP-rated range of 225 km.

The Premium variant is equipped with a more potent motor that develops 114 hp (85 kW) and 150 Nm. The higher-spec model also features a larger 40.16 kWh LFP battery, which extends the range to 325 km (WLTP).

Both variants support 6.6 kW AC charging, taking 4.3 hours to recharge from 10-80% for the Prime and 5.9 hours for the Premium variant. For faster charging, the Prime variant supports DC charging at 53 kW, while the Premium variant supports up to 71 kW. Despite the differing DC charging speeds, both models can be recharged from 30-80% in 21 minutes.
