Smart Malaysia launches new ‘Hello Smart’ app – integrated EV charging map, loan application features

Ahead of the imminent market launch of the Smart #1 SUV, Smart Malaysia today unveiled the Hello Smart mobile app for its customers and potential owners, boasting helpful features that are designed to integrate directly into their daily routines and help elevate the overall ownership experience.

The app provides many of the usual connected features you’d already expect from a vehicle’s mobile app, including real-time access to their Smart vehicles (battery and charging status information, remote air-con and windows control), as well as a Discover page where users will be able to find the latest news, events, and access the community page for all Smart #1 owners.

But what sets the Hello Smart app apart from the others are its expanded functionalities, headlined by the unique integrated EV charger map. By collaborating with various EV charging ecosystem stakeholders, Smart Malaysia was able to integrate all the charging stations from various providers in Malaysia into a single map, where customers can directly access real-time charger information including availability status, and even initiate the charging process and make payments without jumping through multiple services.

Smart says that the feature currently has about 70% of all public charging points already integrated, as it works on including more into the app.

The Hello Smart app also includes a feature that will allow potential customers to personalise their dream vehicles, estimate monthly payments, and even apply for loans directly through the app, significantly simplifying the EV ownership experience by eliminating various manual procedures.

An e-Mall feature meanwhile offers various official Smart merchandise and accessories for purchase, alongside the One-Stop Service Home Charging Solution that streamlines the purchase, installation, and appointment scheduling for the SmartCharge home chargers. Uniquely, customers can earn loyalty points when they invite their friends to purchase a Smart vehicle, which can then be used to make purchases within the e-Mall.

“In our quest for a user-friendly digital journey, smart Malaysia is committed to boosting the connection between smart vehicle owners and their cars. We are thrilled to introduce the Hello smart App, which takes integration to the next level, keeping users in the loop and connected. We believe this app will deepen our owners’ affection for the brand, offering an innovative and all-encompassing experience.” said Smart Malaysia CEO, Zhang Qiang.

The Hello Smart app is now available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery. A feature update has already been scheduled for release in Q4 of 2023, further enhancing usability and convenience.
