Along with the unveiling of the Smart #3 today, Smart Malaysia has also announced new prices for the all-electric Smart #1. Prices of the #1 have been slashed by up to RM20,000, giving the car a new starting price of RM169,000. While the Pro and Premium variant prices have been revised, the price of the #1 Brabus remains unchanged.

Specifications of the Pro and Premium remain unchanged, providing a good opportunity for those who wish to give EV ownership a try. The Pro variant is the entry-level version of the #1 while the Premium is the mid variant which offers the longest EV range at 440 km.
The Smart #1 Pro packs a 49 kWh LFP battery that provides 315 km of range. It gets a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup that puts out 272 hp (metric) and 343 Nm. It can do 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and it has a top speed of 180 km/h.
The Smart #1 Premium packs a larger 66 kWh battery pack that provides 440 km of range. It gets the same single motor RWD setup as the Pro, making 272 hp and 343 Nm as well. Like the Pro, it also has a century sprint time of 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h.
Both the Pro and Premium also differ in charging. The Pro is only able to handle 7 kW AC charging and 150 kW with DC charging. The former takes 6 hours to charge the car from 10% to 80% while the latter takes 22 minutes to charge the car from 10% to 80%.
The Premium is able to handle a higher maximum AC charging rate of 22 kW which enables a charging time of 3 hours (10% to 80%). Its maximum DC charging rate is identical to the Pro’s at 150 kW. But since it has a bigger battery, it charges from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes.
Together with the revised prices, Smart Malaysia is also offering existing Smart #1 Premium and Pro owners a complimentary 4-year service package. Smart Malaysia says that “this initiative underscores its dedication to going the extra mile, ensuring its customers are supported”.
