Lamborghini Urus SE PHEV coming to Malaysia in June 2024, deliveries to start Q1 2025

The Lamborghini Urus SE will be making its launch in Malaysia as soon as the first week of June this year. This was confirmed by Lamborghini’s Asia-Pacific Regional Director, Francesco Scardaoni, during the brand’s Super Trofeo Asia 2024 race at the Sepang International Circuit today.

With the launch date set in place, this essentially means the Lamborghini Urus SE will be arriving at Malaysian shores in less than two months after its global debut at the Beijing Motor Show 2024 late last month. Deliveries for the SUV in Malaysia will happen starting at the end of Q1 2025.

Being the brand’s first PHEV-powered SUV, the Lamborghini Urus SE looks slightly “softer” on the outside as compared to the Urus we are familiar with. But don’t let that fool you, as the brand has given the Urus SE a new diffuser and a new spoiler which are said to deliver 35% more downforce at high speeds as compared to the Urus S.

Powering the Lamborghini Urus SE is a PHEV system consisting of a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric drive system. The engine by itself puts out 620 hp (metric) and 800 Nm, while the transmission-integrated electric drive system, which is housed within an 8-speed automatic gearbox, delivers 192 hp (metric) and 482 Nm on its own.

With power sent to all four wheels, the Urus SE’s maximum system output is rated at 800 hp (metric). This enables the SUV to perform the century sprint in just 3.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 312 km/h.

Additionally, the electric motor can also drive all four wheels on its own. Speaking of driving in pure electric mode, the Urus SE has an all-electric range of 60 km, thanks to a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Inside, the Lamborghini Urus SE sports an updated interior that highlights the brand’s “feel like a pilot” design DNA. It also gets a large 12.3-inch screen which runs on the Italian carmaker’s new version of the Human Machine Interface (HMI).

To recap, the Lamborghini Urus SE was first unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show 2024 late last month. The PHEV SUV’s arrival in Malaysia will mark its second launch in the Southeast Asian region, right after Thailand.
