UMW Toyota Motor sold 7,480 cars in Feb 2024, up 19% from previous month



UMW Toyota Motor announced that it sold 13,756 cars within the first two months of 2024, with February recording a total monthly sale of 7,480 units (7,347 units from Toyota and 133 units from Lexus). The company’s monthly sales number is up by 19.18% from January, but its year-to-date sales figure is down by 14.47% (16,083 cars were sold in the first 2 months of 2023).

Recently, UMW Toyota Motor organized the “Beyond Zero” event which was a 9-day showcase of Toyota’s multi-pathway strategy for a carbon-neutral future by 2050. The event was officiated by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), along with YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI).

The Beyond Zero event featured a range of alternative-energy vehicles, including Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), and Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles (FCEV).

The company also recently opened bookings for the updated Toyota Hiace Panel Van. Among the updates for the panel van is an enhanced 3.0L engine, transitioning from the previous 2.5L. The new engine aligns with Euro 4 emission standards. It delivers 136 DIN HP at 3,400 rpm, and 300 Nm at 1,200 – 2,400 rpm.

Also recently announced is UMW Toyota Motor’s “Journey of Reflections” promotion which offers customers up to 100% financing for selected models. Car buyers could enjoy broad promotional savings, including of up to RM5,500 for the New Yaris, with monthly purchase installments starting from only RM688 for the all-new Vios. The Toyota Service Savers program further offers convenient monthly installments starting from as low as RM18.
