Volvo Car Malaysia hosts its first-ever Safety Driving Experience for customers

As if its cars were not safe enough already, Volvo Car Malaysia stepped things up over the recent weekend by hosting its first-ever Safety Driving Experience for its customers. Held at KL Base, Sungai Besi airstrip, the event saw participation from 240 Volvo customers and fans.

During the Volvo safety driving experience, participants were taught essential defensive driving skills through exercises such as braking, steering, avoiding, and quick-reaction lane changing. They also had the opportunity to experience the cars’ acceleration and handling through a slalom course on the 1.8-km long runway itself, with Volvo’s onboard safety technology for cross-traffic alert and pilot assist featured between turns.

The event also showcased Volvo’s entire range of fully electric and plug-in hybrid models, including the Volvo XC90 and Volvo XC60 SUVs, the Volvo S90 and Volvo S60 sedans, the Volvo V60 estate, and the sub-compact Volvo XC40 currently offered with either a fully electric or mild hybrid powertrain.

The highlight of the display was the updated Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric crossover SUV which is now offered with a new Vapour Grey colour option. The update maintains the price of the C40 despite introducing improvements such as a larger battery, a longer electric range of 550m, and a faster maximum DC charging rate of 200 kW.
