Honda Civic FE facelift unveiled with a face that looks like a 3 Series

Here is our first look at the Honda Civic FE facelift, which has just been previewed in a hybrid form for the US market. Set for launch in the country around Q3 or Q4 this year, the Civic Hybrid will be offered in both sedan and hatchback forms.

Up front, the facelifted Honda Civic FE now wears a new honeycomb grille that is larger than before, along with a redesigned bumper, which looks similar to that of the Civic RS Prototype that was showcased at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. Overall its front fascia sort resembles the BMW 3 Series, doesn’t it?

The upcoming facelifted Civic’s rear design has yet to be revealed in full thus far. But from what can be seen so far, it sports a rear design that is similar to the current model, albeit with new graphics for the rearlights. At the side, the Civic FE facelift is fitted with a newly designed set of dual-tone wheels.

No specifications have been detailed regarding the facelifted Honda Civic FE for the US market just yet. However, the hybrid variant(s) should come with the brand’s Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system featuring the 2.0-litre engine, similar to what is found in the Honda Civic e:HEV RS available here in Malaysia. The 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbo VTEC engines found under the hood of the outgoing model are also expected to be retained.

Closer to home, the Honda Civic FE is priced from RM131,900 to RM167,900 (OTR, without insurance). Two powertrain options are available for the Civic, namely the 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-4 VTEC engine, paired with a CVT gearbox, as well as the e:HEV hybrid powertrain that features a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated engine and an electric motor.

Additionally, there is also the FL5 Civic Type R, which is priced from RM399,900 and is available exclusively via a ballot system. Powering the hot hatch is the K20C1 2.0-litre turbo inline-4 engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, pushing out 319 hp (metric) and 420 Nm.
