2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport previewed in Malaysia – RM530k estimated price



BMW Malaysia has just previewed the 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport LCI (Life Cycle Impulse, as BMW refers to its facelifts). Proudly locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia at the carmaker’s plant in Kulim, the X5 xDrive50e M Sport is set to replace the outgoing X5 xDrive45e M Sport, with an estimated price of RM530,000.

On the outside, the X5 xDrive50e M Sport, as its name suggests, comes with the M Sport package as standard. It also sports an updated kidney grille with BMW Iconic Glow LED lighting, a set of LED headlights that are now are now 35 mm slimmer, along with arrow-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) that also serve as turn indicators.

The 2024 BMW X5 facelift in Malaysia is fitted with a set of 21-inch V-Spoke 915 M Bi-colouExterior colour M light alloy wheels. Colour options offered with the BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport LCI in Malaysia include Black Sapphire, Manhattan, Mineral White, and Skyscraper Grey.

Powering the Malaysian-spec BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, consisting of a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine that makes 308 hp and 450 Nm, and an electric motor that puts out 94 hp and 100 Nm. Paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic gearbox, power is sent to all four wheels, resulting in a combined output of 489 hp, 96 hp more than its predecessor – the X5 xDrive45e, and 700 Nm. Performing the century sprint with the BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport LCI takes only 4.8 seconds.

Thanks to the 25.7 kWh battery pack fitted into the Malaysian-spec BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport LCI, the SUV can carry you as far as 110 km (WLTP) in full electric vehicle (EV) mode. Charging the facelifted SUV can be done via AC charging at a maximum rate of 7.4 kW, allowing the car to be juiced up from flat to full in 4.5 hours.

Inside, the BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport LCI in Malaysia will be fitted with equipment such as the BMW Curved Display which features a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 14.9-inch infotainment display, running on the BMW Operating System 8.5. Also included with the SUV is the brand’s “Merino” full-grain leather upholstery, with two colour options offered – Black and Tartufo (brown), together with an ambient lighting system. The X5 xDrive50e also sports BMW’s newly designed gear selector lever, along with a Harman Kardon Surround sound system.

In the safety department, BMW has packed the X5 xDrive50e M Sport LCI with a series of driver assistance systems. This includes the Driving Assistant Professional and the Parking Assistant Professional, among other features.
