Following the launch of the Audi Q8 e-tron in Malaysia last year, the more performance-oriented 2024 Audi SQ8 e-tron has also arrived here in Malaysia. Offered in two body styles, the SQ8 e-tron and SQ8 Sportback e-tron, prices for the sports SUV start from RM533,790, OTR, inclusive of Audi Assurance Package (AAP).

On the outside, the Audi SQ8 e-tron is fitted with the brand’s Digital Matrix LED headlights which also come with high-beam assist. Like the “regular” Q8 e-tron, the new Audi SQ8 e-tron in Malaysia is also fitted with a pair of digital side-view cameras.

The 2024 Audi SQ8 e-tron and SQ8 Sportback e-tron are the first EVs in Malaysia to sport a tri-electric motor setup, featuring one 124 kW electric motor that drives the front axle. The rear axle on the other hand features two electric motors with 98 kW of output each, powering each rear wheel separately.
Charging can be done via DC charging at a maximum rate of 170 kW, which will take 31 minutes to juice up the sports SUV from 10 to 80%. A 10-minute charge using DC charging can also help return the SQ8 e-tron with 104 km of range.
The Audi SQ8 e-tron can also handle AC charging at a maximum rate of 22 kW, which can top it up from flat to full in approximately 9.15 hours. 11 kW AC charging is also supported, which will charge up the EV SUV from 0 to 100% in 11.3 hours. Inside, the Audi SQ8 e-tron in Malaysia gets standard features such as the Valcona leather seats with the “S” badges embossed on them, Audi’s 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit digital instrument display, the Audi MMI touch response infotainment head unit that includes a set of displays, as well as a head-up display. Also included is the 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system.
