It was an extra happy start to the new year for GC Mah, because while most people only dream of the phrase “new year, new car”, the bossman actually managed to have his new car delivery line up perfectly with the start of 2024 – so of course we’re bringing you along for the celebration!
Now a family man with two little rays of sunshine, there’s only one right answer to his “is this the car for you” question – the Volvo XC90.
More specifically, GC’s new Volvo is the XC90 Recharge T8 Ultimate, with the Polestar Engineered pack thrown in as a complimentary upgrade as part of the brand’s ongoing promotions. We’ll leave it to GC to explain his choice – especially considering the car is now coming up to 10 years old – in future videos, but for now, all you have to know is that it’s a seven-seater SUV, with a whopping 462 hp and 709 Nm of torque coming from its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain.
As part of the model’s latest update in Malaysia, the infotainment display is also now running Android Automotive OS, which means GC can listen to Cocomelon through the Bowers & Wilkins sound system without even connecting his phone to the car first.
Of course, the usual Volvo safety considerations are all here, with a full suite of advanced driver assistance features, and even a built-in booster seat on-board to keep you and your passengers safe.
