Smart Malaysia has successfully delivered 100 units of its Smart #1 electric vehicle (EV) in just one month. As part of an ongoing promotion – valid until December 31, 2023 – celebrating the Smart #1’s official launch in Malaysia, the new buyers are offered a complimentary SmartCharge Home Charger worth RM3,200.
In addition to the complimentary home charger, early bird owners will also receive a complimentary accessories package worth RM2,000, and a five-year/60 GB internet data package, among other goodies.
The company attributes the Smart #1’s success to the collaboration between its 10 Smart outlets across Malaysia, as well as its sales specialists. The brand’s Hello Smart mobile phone app also played a crucial role in making the customers’ purchase experience a fast and efficient one, Smart Malaysia said in a release.
Besides sales, the carmaker also says that having adequate stocks in advance of the car’s official launch also helped contribute to the Smart #1’s early deliveries in Malaysia.

The Smart #1 made its official launch in Malaysia just last month, after opening its order books some three months ago. Smart Malaysia has received over 1,000 bookings for its brand-new EV as of early December this year.
Available in three variants, namely Premium, Pro, and Brabus, prices for the Smart #1 start from RM189,000 and top out at RM249,000.
Both the Smart #1 Pro and Premium variants in Malaysia are powered by a rear-mounted single-motor setup that puts out 272 hp (metric) and 343 Nm. The more powerful Brabus variant on the other hand sports a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup that produces 428 hp (metric) and 543 Nm.
The Smart #1 Pro is powered by a 49 kWh LFP battery pack that allows it to travel as far as 315 km on a single charge. The Premium and Brabus variants get a larger 66 kWh ternary battery instead, offering up to 440 km and 400 km of range respectively.
Commenting on its first 100 deliveries, Smart Malaysia CEO, Mr. Zhang Qiang said, “As we deliver 100 Smart #1 EVs in record time, we are thrilled to see our cars resonating with a segment of buyers who prioritize style and individuality.
