BMW Group Malaysia appoints Benjamin Nagel as new managing director and CEO



BMW Group Malaysia has appointed Benjamin Nagel as the new managing director and chief executive officer. He will be assuming the leadership role effective 1 January 2024, and will succeed Hans de Visser, who has landed on a new role away from the company.

Benjamin Nagel will bring with him over 20 years of experience and expertise within the BMW Group. He has served across various leadership roles in both the BMW and MINI brands, including as head of sales in BMW Group South Africa and BMW AG in Berlin.

Reflecting on the leadership change, BMW Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Jean-Philippe Parain, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Benjamin Nagel as the new leader for BMW Group Malaysia. His extensive experience and proven track record in driving performance and innovation align seamlessly with our vision for bringing Sheer Driving Pleasure to Malaysia.”

During his tenure in BMW Group Malaysia, de Visser helped the brand to achieve its position as the leading premium carmaker in the market for three consecutive years, along with becoming the “number one electric vehicle provider in the country” in both market share and customer satisfaction, according to the company’s internal data.

“The entire group expresses deep gratitude for de Visser’s invaluable contributions to the company’s success in the country,” the company said in a statement.
