The electric “EQ” lineup in Malaysia is now complete with the launch of the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV. Launched in a single variant only, the EQE SUV for Malaysia is the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 500 4MATIC. This electric SUV will cost you RM485,888.
Let’s get straight into the EV numbers. There’s a 90.6 kWh battery under the floor of the EQE SUV 500 4MATIC and it provides 547 km of range (WLTP). The battery can be charged at a maximum rate of 22 kW with AC charging and 170 kW with DC charging. The former charges the car from flat to full in 4 hours and 45 minutes while the latter charges the car from 0 to 80% in 32 minutes.
A dual-motor all-wheel drive system propels the EQE SUV 500 4MATIC forward. This system outputs 408 hp and 858 Nm and this translated to a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h.
Looks-wise, the EQE SUV follows the same trend as the rest of the EQ models with its black front panel and continuous light design. Its shape is also easily recognizable as an EQ model, prioritizing aerodynamics for the best efficiency. The door handles are also flush when not in use, in line with that objective.
Inside, the Mercedes-Benx EQE SUV doesn’t get the signature hyperscreen. Instead, you get a two-screen setup that is similar to what you find in the EQE 350+ sedan. Naturally, the EQE SUV comes with the latest MBUX system, multi-colour ambient lighting system, and turbine-like air-conditioning vents.
Advanced safety features on the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 500 4MATIC include Attention Assist (AA), Active Brake Assist (ABA), Active Lane Keeping Assist (ALKA), Speed Limit Assist (SLA), Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Blind Spot Assist (BSA), Active Steering Assist (ASA), Active Lane Change Assist (ALCA), Active Emergency Stop Assist (AESA), Active Brake Assist with cross-traffic function, Evasive Steering Assist (ESA), PRE-SAFE PLUS, and PRE-SAFE Impulse Side.
