Selamat Datang to Hans de Visser, BMW Group Malaysia’s New MD and CEO



BMW Group AG has appointed Hans de Visser as the New Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BMW Group Malaysia, effective May 1st 2021.

De Visser, amassing over 29 years with BMW Group, first began his career having started as a manager in Marketing Communications at BMW Motorrad, Munich. Before his current role in BMW Russia as the Marketing Director, de Visser served in various Sales and Marketing roles across several markets globally, including the Middle East, Central Eastern Europe, Spain as well as the Group’s Munich headquarters.

De Visser will take on the role and responsibilities from current MD and CEO Harald Hoelzl, who in turn, will take on a new role at BMW Group in Vienna, Austria.

“Hans’ broad experience in various roles in marketing and sales, as well as his international background will be extremely valuable in his new position,” said Senior Vice-President Region Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Hendrik von Kuenheim.

In his time in Malaysia, Hoelzl led BMW Group Malaysia back to the number one position with over 52% market share, the highest for the premium automaker in the world. BMW Group Malaysia also recorded its highest achievements of over 90% positive satisfaction responses in its Net Promoter Scoring (NPS) for its customer satisfaction- the second-highest achievement in the BMW Group’s network.

Hoelzl also successfully led BMW Group Malaysia to become the number one electrified mobility provider as well as local assembler in the premium segment.  

“I also want to take the opportunity to thank Harald for his work over the last few years in Malaysia. He and his team made BMW number one in the segment and strengthened the position of the company in the country,” von Kuenheim added.
