Tesla Cybertruck has arrived in Malaysia’s… Tesla website – Coming soon?

The Tesla Cybertruck has just made its official launch in the US, but it seems like the futuristic-looking truck has also made its way to Malaysia’s… well, just the Tesla website for now. So no, the Tesla Cybertruck isn’t officially here in Malaysia just yet, but since it’s already on the carmaker’s website, does it mean that order books for the company’s first pick-up truck will be opening soon in Malaysia?

Well, based on Tesla’s previous track record in Malaysia, the brand’s Model 3 facelift was open for booking not long after details of the car appeared on Tesla Malaysia’s website, and its local launch took place shortly after too. Could history repeat itself once again for the Cybertruck?

Like the Cybertruck that has just been launched in the US, the Cybertruck that has appeared on Tesla Malaysia’s website is listed with three variants, namely the top-of-the-range Cyberbeast, All-Wheel Drive (AWD), and Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD).

The Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast packs a tri-motor setup, which sends a whopping 845 hp to all four wheels, enabling the truck to do the century sprint in just 2.7 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 209 km/h.

Powering the Tesla Cybertruck AWD is a dual-motor setup, which sends 600 hp to all four wheels, allowing it to go from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 180 km/h.

The estimated range for the Cybertruck Cyberbeast is rated at 515 km. However, its range can be further boosted to over 705 km with a range extender.

Thanks to having one less motor, the AWD variant can carry you further at up to an estimated 547 km on a single charge. With a range extender, it can travel over 755 km of distance.

Both the Cybertruck Cyberbeast and AWD can be charged at a maximum DC rate of 250 kW. This can provide the Cyberbeast variant with up to 206 km of range in 15 minutes, and the AWD variant with up to 235 km of range in the same amount of time.

For now, the entry-level Cybertruck RWD isn’t on sale just yet. Tesla says you will have to wait till 2025 to get it. Not many details have been announced for this guy, but it sports a rear-mounted single-motor setup that allows it to go from 0 to 100km/h in 6.7 seconds, and travel as far as 402 km.

So, if the Tesla Cybertruck does arrive in Malaysia, would you get one? Or would you prefer the traditional diesel-powered trucks that have been roaming on Malaysian roads for decades instead? Let us know in the comments.
