Hyundai Ioniq 5 embarks on a 2,751km journey from Singapore to Vietnam



Hyundai is currently holding the “Go Far with Zero Worries” Ioniq 5 ASEAN Tour, a journey covering a 2,751 km route across five countries in Southeast Asia. The flag-off ceremony took place at the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre Singapore (HMGICS) on November 20, and will later conclude at Ho Chi Minh City’s Royal Palace in Vietnam on November 30.

A total of 24 participants are taking part in the Ioniq 5 ASEAN Tour. This includes Hyundai Motor Company representatives, Automobile Association of Singapore (AAS) members, Hyundai club enthusiasts, local influencers across ASEAN, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) from Indonesia and Thailand.

The convoy includes three cars from HMGICS and two from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI). The Hyundai Ioniq 5 cars will be driven through five countries in the ASEAN region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

The participants will also be visiting over 20 iconic destinations, such as the Penang Heritage Walk in Malaysia, and the Bayon Temple in Cambodia. Originating in South Korea, this tour witnesses the collaboration between the Association of Singapore (AAS), Hyundai Korea Domestic Market, as well as Hyundai Korea ASEAN Headquarters. The carmaker is also showcasing the Ioniq 5’s reliability, eco-friendliness, and long-distance capabilities through this 2,751 km journey.

Hyundai Motor ASEAN Headquarters President, Youngtack Lee said, “Our aspiration through this journey is to demonstrate the reliability, eco-friendliness, and long-distance capabilities of the Ioniq 5, aiming to reduce consumers’ doubts and anxiety about EVs, especially in the region.”

To recap, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be journeying across five countries, spanning 2,751 km of distance. To complete the mission, the top-of-the-range Ioniq 5 Max is fitted with a 72.6 kWh battery, enabling it to travel as far as 430 km (WLTP).
