Following the debut of the 2023 Mercedes-AMG A-Class facelift range in Malaysia earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today launched the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ to complete its compact line-up here on our shores.
The new 2023 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ is priced from RM527,888 on-the-road and without insurance, or RM557,888 for the limited AMG Street Style Edition model if the extra flair suits your fancy. Both variants are now available for order through Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s online showroom, linked here.
Exterior revisions on the new CLA 45 S mostly mirrors that of the new A-Class range, including a redesigned Multibeam LED headlights with unique daytime-running lights, new light signatures inside the new LED tail lights, and a slightly reworked AMG Line body kit and AMG aerodynamics package.
The AMG model continues to differentiate itself with its Panamericana grille up front, with the added aggression complemented by 19-inch AMG five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels and the AMG Night Package chrome delete treatment on the outside. Customers can also opt for the 19-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels during checkout at extra cost, alongside several other items including exclusive paint jobs, the AMG Aerodynamics Package Plus, and even more darkened bits courtesy of the AMG Night Package II.
If you prefer a little more extravagance, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is also offering the new CLA 45 S in a limited-units-only AMG Street Style Edition, which comes equipped from the factory with most of the optional items from above, plus unique Manufaktur Mountain Grey Magno paintwork with variant-specific chequered-flag decals.
Performance wise, the new 2023 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ remains untouched from before – a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four engine underneath the bonnet supplies up to 421 hp and 500 Nm, with power sent to all four wheels via the 4Matic+ fully variable all-wheel drive system, and an eight-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission.
In terms of numbers, the CLA 45 S accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, onward to a top speed of 270 km/h courtesy of the AMG Driver’s Package. As with all AMG models these days, the new four-door compact coupe also comes equipped with a whole suite of tech wizardries to help improve performance, including the AMG Torque Control torque vectoring system, AMG Dynamics, AMG Track Pace, and AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension.
Inside, the biggest change on the new 2023 CLA 45 S comes in the form of a revised centre console, where the touchpad control panel has been replaced by a shallow stowage area, in line with all other models in the brand’s stable. In the same vein, the MBUX operating system for the twin 10.25-inch screens has also been updated to the latest version which adds newly designed display styles, alongside a revised telematics system.
Otherwise, the rest of the cabin remains largely identical to before, save for the new AMG Performance steering wheel. The driver and front passenger sits in the “AMG Performance seats with AMG Performance Seat Package Advanced” front seats wrapped in faux leather and Microcut microfibre (real leather optional), while the dashboard panels are covered in an Aluminium AMG Design trim.

Standard equipment on the inside include a dual-zone climate control system, a panoramic sunroof, additional USB-C charging ports, a wireless phone charging pad, illuminated ‘AMG’ door sill plates, new Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos support, as well as the Driving Assistance Package consisting of a SAE L2 semi-autonomous driving features, autonomous emergency braking, as well as the 360-degree surround view monitor.
Customers who opt for the AMG Street Style Edition will see their cabin adorned with bright orange accents and cross stitching, alongside additional microfibre wrapped around the steering wheel for more grip, ‘Street Style Edition’ floor mats, as well as Edition specific red lighting for the door sill plates.
