Fans of the compact Mercedes-Benz are in for a treat as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has just launched the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift. Still available in the saloon versions only (for non-AMG models), prices for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class start at RM238,888. There are also facelifts of the AMG versions of the A-Class launched together with the refreshed non-AMG versions. Prices for the A 200 are official but the A250 4MATIC’s price is now at an estimated RM264,000.

As for the normal non-AMG versions of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class, the options on offer are as follows:
- Mercedes-Benz A 200 saloon – RM238,888
- Mercedes-Benz A 250 4MATIC saloon – estimated RM264,000
The changes to the exterior of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class are minor. The tweaks can be seen in the new headlights, taillights, larger grille, and new bumpers. The new A-Class also introduces the hood power bulges for all variants now. Previously this was only present on the AMG A 45. Naturally, the updated A-Class also introduces new wheel designs with respect to variants.
Standard exterior equipment on the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class includes:
- Progressive line trims
- LED High-Performance Headlamps
- Adaptive Highbeam Assist
- 17-inch wheels
The A 250 4MATIC adds on:
- AMG Line trims
- 18-inch wheels
As for performance, the A 200 is now electrified with a 48V mild hybrid system, albeit still housing a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine. Full technical details of the A 200 are as such:

- Rated Power: 163 hp @5,500 rpm
- Rated Torque: 270 Nm
- Boost: 14 hp
- Transmission: 7-Speed DCT

- Top Speed: 230 km/h
Up a variant, the A 250 4MATIC is also electrified with the 48V mild hybrid system. Previously only a front-wheel drive (FWD), power is now sent to all 4 wheels in the A 250 4MATIC, as its name suggests. The full technical details of the A 250 4MATIC are as such:
- Engine: 1,991 cc turbocharged 4-cylinder engine
- Rated Power: 224 hp @5,500 rpm
- Rated Torque: 350 Nm
- Boost: 14 hp
- Transmission: 8-Speed DCT
- Drivetrain: All-wheel drive (AWD)
- 0-100 km/h: 6.4 seconds
- Top Speed: 250 km/h
Inside, things have been tweaked slightly with the most drastic change being the removal of the touchpad that used to be on the centre console. That space is now just a shallow storage space. You now get the latest MBUX (NTG7.0) with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the CarPlay display now filling up the entire screen.
You also get the latest Mercedes-Benz steering wheel in the new A-Class which comes with capacitive controls. The HVAC controls retain the physical button layout and as expected of the brand, the A-Class features the signature 64-colour ambient lighting system. There are also now more USB ports in the refreshed A-Class.
