Not long after launching the first Tesla Centre in Malaysia at Cyberjaya, Tesla Malaysia has now activated its second supercharger location in Malaysia, located at Sunway Big Box, Iskandar Puteri, Johor. The Tesla Supercharger location in Johor consists of 4 supercharging bays with charging speeds of up to 250 kW and an AC charger.
Charging rates are listed at RM0.63/kWh for a limited time (50% discount) and will eventually cost RM1.25/kWh. Like the supercharger in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, idle fees are also applicable at RM4 per minute.
Tesla has now changed the charging location pin on its map to red, indicating that the charger is now live. It is the second live Tesla Supercharger location in Malaysia after Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (which consists of 8 supercharging bays with speeds of up to 250 kW).
The 4 Tesla chargers are listed as available 24/7 and are located outdoors. The superchargers are Tesla’s V3 superchargers. According to Tesla, its V3 supercharging network is the world’s largest fast-charging network with speeds of up to 250 kW. Tesla says its superchargers can add up to 270 km of range in just 15 minutes.
Together with the launch of the Tesla Superchargers, the Tesla Model Y is also displayed at Sunway Big Box, giving those in Johor an opportunity to see the car in the flesh. It will be on display from October 5 to October 8, 2023.
