Smart #1 Brabus unveiled for Malaysia – est. RM250k, 400km range

Smart Malaysia today unveiled the Smart #1 Brabus at IEMS 2023 in KLCC. The company has previously unveiled the Smart #1 Premium and now the second of the three variants has made its first public appearance in Malaysia. If the previously-announced estimated price range of the Smart #1 remains, the Smart #1 Brabus will cost an estimated RM250,000.

The Smart #1 Brabus is the range-topping variant of the Smart #1, sitting above the Smart #1 Premium which sits above the Smart #1 Pro. Its Brabus monicker is indicative of its high-performance nature and this is also hinted through the red accents on the outside, special wheels, and Brabus emblems. All else, the Smart #1 Brabus is identical to its Premium and Pro counterparts.

Propelling the Smart #1 Brabus is a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) system that makes 428 hp and 584 Nm. It does the century sprint in 3.9 seconds, onward to a limited top speed of 180 km/h. We’ve tested it (whilst in camouflage) and it is quite a fun little car to hoon around in.

Storing power in the Smart #1 Brabus is the same 66-kWh battery pack found in other variants. In the Smart #1 Brabus, this translates to a range of 400 km (WLTP). To charge the battery, the Smart #1 Brabus can handle a maximum AC charging rate of 22 kW and a maximum DC charging rate of 150 kW. The former charges the car from flat to full in less than 3 hours while the latter charges the car from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.
