2023 Porsche Cayenne facelift now open for booking in Malaysia – CKD, from RM600k

Following its global debut at Auto Shanghai 2023, Sime Darby Auto Performance today announced that the new 2023 Porsche Cayenne facelift is now available for booking here in Malaysia. Like the outgoing model, the new 2023 update will similarly be built here locally at Kulim, Kedah, in what is Porsche’s first assembly line outside of Europe.

Offered in a single base variant “made exclusively for the Malaysian market”, orders for the 2023 Porsche Cayenne facelift can now be placed at the company’s new online platform (mycayenne.online) at a starting price of RM599,999, with deliveries scheduled to commence before the end of 2023.

In terms of a “facelift”, the new 2023 Porsche Cayenne has been given a slight styling refresh on the outside, characterised by the wider and taller front grille, sleeker headlights, and new three-dimensional tail lights. Round the back, the number plate recess has also been moved to the bottom, giving the new Cayenne a cleaner rear apron design.

Matrix LED headlights are now standard-fit items on the new 2023 Porsche Cayenne, as are the 20-inch ‘Cayenne Design’ wheels. For a more stylish look, customers can also opt for the 21-inch ‘Cayenne Exclusive Design’ and 22-inch ‘Sport Design’ items at extra cost. Three colours are on offer for the CKD 2023 Porsche Cayenne, including Carrara White, Chromite Black, and Quarzite Grey metallic colours.

Inside, the dashboard of the new 2023 Porsche Cayenne has been significantly worked with what the company calls the “new Porsche Driver Experience”. First seen on the Porsche Taycan, the new dashboard layout has been significantly modernised with the use of large screens, measuring 12.6-inch for the instrument cluster, and 12.3-inch for the central infotainment display.

With the gear lever now reimagined as a little paddle on the dashboard itself, the centre console has been freed up for a large air conditioning control panel with mechanical toggle switches, a haptic touch volume controller, as well as more stowage space for the modern driver’s miscellaneous items.

The new 2023 Porsche Cayenne in Malaysia also comes as standard with several extra equipment “optional elsewhere in the world”, including the Power Steering Plus system (speed-sensitive variable power steering), soft-close doors, 14-way electric comfort seats with Porsche crest embossing on the headrests, electric roll-up sun blinds for the rear windows, a Bose Surround Sound System, as well as a 15W wireless charging pad for your mobile phone.

An optional Tequipment Rear Seat Entertainment package, which adds two additional screens for the rear passengers, is also available at RM13,500.

Under the hood, the new 2023 Porsche Cayenne is powered by the same 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine as before, but uprated to now make 353 hp and 500 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an active all-wheel drive system and a Tiptronic S eight-speed automatic gearbox for a century sprint in under 5.4 seconds.

Here in Malaysia, the new 2023 Cayenne comes as standard with a two-chamber twin-valve air suspension set-up, with reworked adjustable dampers controlled by the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system, with a wider differentiation between its driving modes that’s said to improve the model’s handling capabilities for both on-road and off-road driving.

Speaking of driving modes, the Malaysia-specification 2023 Porsche Cayenne also comes as standard with the Sport Chrono package, which gives you the additional Sport Plus and Individual driving modes, a driving-mode switch dial on the steering wheel, a stopwatch on top of the dashboard, alongside Launch Control and Sport Response functions – the latter giving you max outputs for 20 seconds at a time.

As for safety, the new 2023 Porsche Cayenne in Malaysia will come equipped as standard with the Adaptive Cruise Control system, Lane Keeping Assist, as well as Front and Rear Park Assist sensors with a 360-degree surround-view monitor.

Again, the new locally-assembled 2023 Porsche Cayenne facelift is now available starting at RM599,999 on-the-road, without insurance, and you can book yours now online for a RM10,000 booking fee at mycayenne.online.

To celebrate the launch, Sime Darby Auto Performance will also be giving the first 250 orders placed a set of matching painted vehicle keys, based on the exterior colour of your choosing.
